Ethidium Health Systems Receives Funding from the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern PA

Company to Expand Commercialization Efforts for Low-Cost, On-Demand EMR Service

Huntingdon Valley, PA – April 4, 2005 – Ethidium Health Systems, a leading developer of clinical information management software and services today announced that it has received an Emerging Company Investment from the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/SEP). Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Matias Klein, Ethidium's President and founder, stated, "This investment by the Ben Franklin Technology Partners will help Ethidium bring its next-generation electronic medical record (EMR) service to the main stream market. Until now, the advanced web technology powering Ethidium's products has been far too expensive and complex for the average medical practice."

With the basic goal of simplifying medicine, Ethidium Health Systems strives to dramatically enhance the quality of health care by streamlining clinical and administrative tasks, while concurrently strengthening the physician-patient relationship. Ethidium's next-generation EMR is deployed as a simple, low cost, on-demand EMR service, and unlike legacy EMR vendors that have proprietary data formats to lock-in their customer, all health records created with Ethidium's technology can be shared with any system supporting open standards for health record interoperability.
